
Two of the founders of DBC, Kelley Dunne and Bill Wallace, have worked together for a number of years, beginning in 1996 as part of the founding team of OnePoint Communications. The pair helped to run OnePoint for five years before selling it to Verizon Communications in 2001. They then ran the resulting wholly-owned subsidiary of Verizon (named Verizon Avenue) until 2006. Prior to their OnePoint/Verizon experience, Bill was a telecommunications consultant for 17 years and Kelley was an officer in the Army Signal Corps and worked for AT&T/Bell Labs for seven years. DBC’s third founder, Joe Kochan, joined Bill and Kelley to help run Verizon Avenue in 2002. Prior to joining Verizon, Joe served as President of the Princeton University student government. While at Verizon Avenue, the team organized, launched, and directed Verizon’s broadband wireless trials in five small towns across the country.
P. Kelley Dunne :: Chief Executive Officer
Kelley Dunne was formerly Executive Vice President, Operations for Verizon Avenue, the Verizon subsidiary focused on providing bundled communications services to concentrated communities nationwide. Mr. Dunne's responsibilities included leadership of Network Operations, Program Management, Customer Care, and Field Operations for Verizon's multi-dwelling unit and concentrated community markets. He was also responsible for initiating and leading Verizon's rural broadband trials nationwide. Previously, Mr. Dunne held positions as Vice President of HR, Vice President of Provisioning and Customer Care, and Director of Carrier Services at OnePoint Communications prior to Verizon's acquisition of OnePoint in 2000. Mr. Dunne has over 15 years experience in the field of telecommunications, including 7 years with AT&T and Bell Labs, where he held management positions in Network Operations, Data Network Planning, and Network Security. In addition, Mr. Dunne served as an enlisted serviceman and later as an Army Officer in the US Army's Signal Corps. Mr. Dunne received his BS degree in Communications Systems Management from Ohio University and his MS degree in Information and Communications Sciences from Ball State University.
William F. Wallace :: Chairman
William Wallace was most recently the Chief Executive Officer of Verizon Avenue, the Verizon subsidiary focused on providing bundled communications services to concentrated communities nationwide. As the market leader, Verizon Avenue had in excess of one million apartment/co-op/condo units under contract. Verizon Avenue was formed when Verizon purchased OnePoint Communications in 2000 and merged it with existing multi-dwelling units from Bell Atlantic and GTE. Mr. Wallace co-founded OnePoint in 1996 as a Competitive Local Exchange Carrier (CLEC) focused on the MDU market. Prior to founding OnePoint, he was COO of Gemini Consulting and leader of its Telecommunications practice, which he co-founded and grew from $10 million to $100 million over a five-year period. He is a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Business School.
Joe Kochan :: Vice President of Operations
Joe Kochan was previously with Verizon Avenue, the Verizon subsidiary focused on providing bundled communications services to concentrated communities nationwide. He had responsibility for strategic planning and special project management and served as Chief of Staff to Mr. Dunne and Mr. Wallace. He assisted in the development of Verizon's programs in the military family housing, rural, and affordable housing markets. He is a graduate of Princeton University, where he served as student government president and earned a BSE in Chemical Engineering.
